  How Is The Governing Body Viewed Today By Jehovah’s Witnesses?

  are they revered like the pope is to catholics??

  back in the 1960s , fred franz and n.h knorr were the only men that counted.

  after franz died, the governing body became more of an idolized entity.

  Regular men who God is using, like prophets*

  * except not inspired.

  Many still simultaneously hold the belief though that the GB does is fact have a line to heaven and is dropping hints, such as the oft repeated idea of "in this latest talk they're trying to tell us that the end is so close."

  Good JWs also view it as a privilege to give to them monetarily or to provide them with physical comforts like taking out to eat, green handshakes, etc. This is exemplified and encouraged in the JW song 'if you did it for them, you did it for me'.

  their official web site says that national television stations and radio stations in africa were happy to broadcast the memorial and even other talks!!

  JWs thrive on bad times. Whether it's the religious persecution in Russia (which is hitting EVERY denomination, not just JWs), war, natural disasters, etc. JWs need it because it fits their narrative. They've even come out and said that some of the most 'spiritualy dangerous' times were when things were better, for instance JWs who stayed 'faithful' through persecution took it easy when things became prosperous.

  Not JW related, but I've published a novel

  it's an alternate history called "1910: war in the pacific," about a (mostly naval) war between the united states and japan after the japanese buy alaska from the russians it's now on sale on amazon in both print and kindle formats.

  it grew out of a short story i wrote a number of years ago.

  that story was just posted on jeffthomasbooks.wordpress.com.

  One older brother LITERALLY used the word infallible to describe the GB, but I'm sure most JWs wouldn't go that far. Still for all intents and purposes they do view them that way even if they technically don't. As for one or two of them vs. all of them as a body, there seemed to be a little overlap, with Henschel getting grouped along with the past presidents out of habit, and the GB as the supreme entity arising from there.

  i happened to be privy to a phone witnessing conversation that my aged father was conducting, the person on the other end just climbed into him.

  he got real nasty and my father ended up hanging up on him.

  i could see that my father was distressed about it, but or course put it down to satan and persecution.

  some light entertainment ... there are apparently 39 beatles songs hidden in the picture, but depending on how to interpret some of them you may come up with more.. please post one each, to give everyone a go, and describe where the song is in the picture (so it's not just coming up with a list of beatles songs).
